NEW ZEALAND is importing less tobacco as the surge in numbers
trying to quit continues.
A report released by Statistics New Zealand shows a drop in the
available tobacco products for the year ending December 2009.
The number of cigarettes available for consumption in the year
dropped by 4.5% to 2.4 billion, coinciding with a decline in the
volume of tobacco products, down 1.6% to 856 tonnes.
